if I have a Minister, s pay, of coz don't feel sandwiched. I feel she is generalizing positively and ignoring the fact that really sandwiched ppl are everywhere, especially the rising costs of elder care.. check out how much a private elder case costs..easily $3.5k. public ones? well . I waited for years for a place.. till my dad passed away .. from old age. seems like they choose excuses to justify a problem they cannot solve

The full video doesnt change anything. We are sandwiched and that's a fact. Just because we need or should find ways to invest/plan etc, does not take away the fact that we are sandwiched, which the minister dismissed.

I watched your entire clip. Now imagine a working adult trying to make ends meet for his/her parents, children. The middle class and low income simply does not have enough resources to invest or even think about the future, when they cant even cope well with the present. Investing, taking calculated risks, all take extra cash. It is after all, still losing touch, and honestly, still tone deaf to the middle class, aka the sandwiched gen.

Feeling of being sandwiched is more than a financial burden. It can be an emotional burden or time burden. Investment suggestion is assuming that money can solve everything. Lastly, investing is something for the middle upper class. Should it be universal opportunities, then we won’t have migrants workers.

My reaction even after the full video is the same : out of touch. By the time I get out to work, I can’t buy insurance for my parents’ healthcare as it would not clear. I set up a Save-as-you-earn scheme and commit $100 for my parents healthcare. This is a fantastic scheme but sadly it has been taken away.
