you are correct brother ,There is definitely something happening in Germany’s retail sector, but it is important to distinguish between companies closing down completely and companies reducing their physical branches. KiK, for example, plans to close around 150 stores in Germany in 2026, while still operating roughly 2,200 stores in the country. Across Europe, KiK expects to close around 300 locations while opening about 75 new ones, leaving it with more than 4,000 stores across Europe.
This reflects the wider pressure on traditional retail, including changing consumer behaviour, high operating costs and increasing competition from online retailers. The bigger question is whether this is an isolated restructuring or part of a longer-term transformation of Germany’s high-street retail sector
