@invinciblevenus_: Have you done this as well? Please comment! As an attempt to see how my brain works (and to find options in case I have it), I experimented with Supplements as replacements for ADHD meds. omega3+Magnesium were my biggest Game Changer. Microbiotics also did a lot. L-Tryptophan, I can‘t tell. #adhd #supplements #adhdmedication #neurodivergent

I did a little experiment too, took myself off my ADHD meds for a few months. Took L-theanine because that’s one people swear by. I thought it was working for a while but eventually everything came crashing back down so I’m back on Vyvanse now 🙃

Vitamine D. Also, check which type of magnesium - there are quite a few different ones, from what i’ve personally researched - malate and biglicycinate whould be best.

Welcome to the self-questioning phase! :) It shows a great amount of self-awareness! Just know that if you truely are, your child may also be, so get them assessed also! :) A quote I like that I've heard before is: neurotypical individuals don't go about their day wondering if they are neurodivergent.

Vitamin D is also important if you live a place where you dont get enough sunlight. Eventually, after years of low number (I never knew) my doctor said i should just take vitamin D always. Its also important for your brain and immune system.

Is in March? Are things just much slower in Germany or is there some reason it’s so delayed?

You can get vegan omega 3! Fish actually get their omega (EPA and DHA) from algae anyways. So you can bypass the fish and get it straight from the vegan omega supplements 🐟🐠🐡

Magnesium bisglycinate specifically was a huge improvement for me- I also take in the morning not night but I take alongside my adhd meds and it help with regulation. Also P-5-P, omega 3 with very high concentration of epa and dha and zinc. Honestly, it’s not a patch of my adhd meds but it helps with adhd symptoms that adhd meds don’t help with for me if that makes sense? Also! Most people with undiagnosed adhd self medicate with sugar and caffeine but coffee specifically causes a lot of crashes (more rise and drop of energy) but matcha has been amazing for me because it’s a slow release of caffeine throughout the day. It’s really really helpful to do what you’re doing which is essentially creating a better building block for your adhd medication to work on once you gets your diagnosis and trial meds. It’s hard to find the right meds that work specifically for your brain chemistry particularly if you’re AuDHD like me but the supplements have helped a lot. I also read that saffron extract helps but I trialed that for 6 months and found no difference.
