Now, El Salvador Is even more expensive than some States within the US. Its mortgage is outrageous. Prices are out of control. A bottle of Tide costs around $38 and here in the US is like $20

El Colón is just dormant for now. legally still available, but when the US dollar collapses. They will reestablish the Colon is a Chessmaster move in a future time bc it will be back by Bitcoin 😉

Dude, inflation after that change was insane. People didn’t know how to convert the prices. Prior to that the government had frozen trabe value of colon to dólar.

The claim that El Salvador dollarized because the colón was losing value is completely false. The exchange rate was historically stable, fixed at ₡8.75 to $1. In reality, dollarization caused immediate inflation because businesses rounded all prices up. Overnight, people's savings and purchasing power shrank, turning what used to be a fortune in colones into almost nothing

Man, do your research this is false! there was no uncontrolled inflation, it was because of remittances from abroad and the country wanted to modernize it's banking system, to make it attractive to foreign banks investments. Soon after dollarization, the local banks were bought by international banks (e.g. Citibank, Scotiabank, HSBC).
