The father is a scumbag who abandoned his daughter for five years. He’s no better than his mother. I don’t care whether my daughter is staying with my mother or even with my wife. If I can’t contact my daughter myself for two days, I will go check on her myself. My daughter is my responsibility. I wouldn’t just dump my responsibility on other people and think that sending money is enough. That is irresponsible parenting.
