@scottkuru: Australians paid $839 BILLION in tax across all levels of government last year. That works out to $30,633 for every Australian. Now, I’m not arguing for zero tax. Taxes pay for hospitals, schools, roads, defence and essential services we all rely on. But I do think Australians have every right to question how much we’re paying and what we’re getting in return. Because you’re taxed when you earn money. You pay tax when you spend it. Property comes with its own collection of taxes and charges. Investing successfully can create another tax bill. And despite governments collecting $839 billion in taxation revenue, general government borrowing across Australia still reached another $69.3 billion that year. Building wealth isn’t only about earning more money. It’s about how much of that money you actually get to KEEP. why not just tax everyone at 15%? like EVERY business gets taxed in the same way that every day people do. each and every time an employee earns AND spends money it is taxed, yet look at all the lax loopholes that CEO's are allowed to use to avoid paying their fair share. we literally wouldn't need to be taxing more per dollar if we just taxed every dollar over $20k at 15 cents. they make it so much harder than it needs to be but not actually understanding the game of monopoly that THEY created and forced us to participate in! withdraw super, classed as an income, not only taxed at withdrawal but it may push you into a higher tax bracket and you'll end up owing more tax across income and super combined for the FY.
