@dzigbordikwakudosoo: Some of us are getting applause for things we have not actually built yet. I'll tell you how. We are living in a time when people announce things before they have built them: The new idea. The new business. The new direction. The new version of themselves. Sometimes, before the work has even started, the announcement is already online. I have learned to be careful with that. When I look back at the most important seasons of my own journey, the real work was rarely visible. I was learning. Practising. Having difficult conversations. Testing ideas that failed. Changing my mind. Starting again. And sometimes sitting quietly with one uncomfortable question: What exactly am I building here? Nobody saw that part. People usually meet you at the point where you can finally explain what you have built. They see the speech. The business. The content. The results. And they wonder, "Where did all this come from?" It did not come from nowhere. There was a construction site. And social media has made private construction much harder. Because today, you can receive recognition for announcing something you have barely begun developing. You post the vision. People applaud. You get likes. People tell you how inspiring you are. And that small dose of validation can become dangerous. Because you can start confusing being celebrated for the intention with being respected for the capability. They are not the same. Real Human Currency is built when nobody is clapping. Knowledge. Judgment. Discipline. Emotional maturity. Skill. Consistency. The ability to do something well, repeatedly, when there is no audience. That is what creates substance. Visibility has its place. It can reveal what you have built. It can amplify it. It can create opportunities around it. It can even help you commercialise it. But visibility cannot do the building for you. Sometimes, the most strategic thing you can do with your next big idea is keep it quiet long enough to make it real. Build first. Then broadcast. Because people can applaud your announcement. But eventually, they will experience your capability.
