When I worked at Walmart they never asked for proof but my current job does require you send them proof after …so for my grandmas I had to give them my grandmas obit and my moms since I wasn’t listed in my grandmas since they just put grandchildren …but my mom died a year or two before and I was listed on their and my moms was listed on my grandmas …good things a lot of that is online and easy to find.

I worked part time and I was told by a manager that I was taking too long to grieve my husband, I was still working 24 hours a week in three days when I only was required to work 18 per week I told them I only hope they never have to go through what I am and I did find another job

Some HR at jobs are shit! My last job there was a customer who harassed me and made inappropriate comments, even messaged me on facebook while I was working inappropriate things. HR said in a phone meeting "I dont work in store, your male managers do and can take care of it." they told me to drop it because they'd rather not lose a customer and money.

This is why I love my job. My dad passed away 2 years ago and my job let me off for a week for bereavement. I didn’t have to provide an obituary. I didn’t have to have proof that I went. They told me to take the time and grieve for my loss and everything will be there when I get back
