The creator of Fortnite has reportedly spent around £150 million ($200 million) acquiring more than 54,000 acres of forests and undeveloped land, much of it originally earmarked for housing developments, golf courses and other construction projects. Rather than keeping the land for profit, Sweeney has donated large portions to conservation groups and state authorities to protect wildlife habitats and expand nature reserves. One of his most notable purchases was the Box Creek Wilderness, which he bought to help prevent a power line being built through an area home to more than 130 rare species of plants and animals.
