I do this in games to see more and therefore react faster, it also helps with avoiding headshots and outplay others by changing movement. It also makes you faster in some games.

I heard somewhere that the theory that stotting is to signal to predators that they’ve already been seen was disproven, and what it’s actually saying is “Hey look how much energy I have, I can totally outrun you. Better find a slower deer to chase” essentially flexing as a survival tactic.
