I understand the mom feeling overwhelming loss with her daughter moving an ocean away, but her actions did not help the situation. When I moved from the Midwest to CA every letter and phone call from my mom was “how could I do this to her?” Not an ounce of support. We ended up back in the area (which worked out fine) but I’ll always feel a little resentful.

When I was 19 - my birth mother told me thatmy dad did a terrible job raising me... she left when I was 1.5 years old. Said I should move in with her. I told her until she apologized to my dad for that crazy statement I would never speak to her again. When I was 36 yo I was at the hospital after my child's birth- she showed up, I was so confused when the nurses said my 'mother' was there. Figured it out who it was. She had been stalking me via facebook ( we were NOT friends on the site) we gave her 10 mins and then the nurses kicked her out!!!! Just because you are related doesn't mean you owe them anything!!!!!! Sometimes those closest to you can hurt you the most! 🫣🤦🏽♀️
