He stated that Pakistan “fully stands with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both diplomatically and physically,” and pledged that Islamabad would “go to any extent” to safeguard the Kingdom and the Haramain Sharifain (Makkah and Madinah). “There should be no doubt on that… We will continue to defend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any aggression,” he said. Chaudhry described the commitment as “unconditional,” arising from “an emotive, deep-rooted, historical and unbreakable bond” shared by the peoples, political leaders, and armed forces of both nations. He noted that Pakistani forces are already present to protect the holy sites and the Kingdom under current arrangements. The remarks are linked to the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement signed by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in September 2025, which treats an attack on one as an attack on both, and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement signed in August 2026 by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye. That trilateral pact similarly regards an armed attack on any one member as an attack on all and prioritises collective deterrence and regional stability. In related comments to Al Arabiya, Chaudhry characterised the Makkah agreement as purely defensive, free of offensive intent or regional military ambitions, with any operational response to be decided jointly by the three countries’ leaderships. These statements come as Houthi missile and drone strikes continue to threaten Saudi cities and infrastructure.
