✈️ Croydon Curry Club goes international (kind of) ✈️ This week one of the Curry Club boys touched down at Imperial Lounge, set right by the old Croydon Airport ✈️. And just like the airport’s history, this place is all about mixing journeys — Indian meets Chinese! Something a bit different for our followers, so let’s dig in 👇 🥣 Pickle Tray: 3/5 Flavours? Lovely. Portions? On the smaller side. The real curveball was the poppadoms — not your big, trusty discs but bite-sized crispy bowls. Fun to dip, yes, but the classic poppadom still reigns supreme in our book. 🍻 Pints: 5/5 The Cobra flowed — ice cold, crisp, and mandatory with curry (basically the 11th commandment). Bonus points: if Cobra’s not your thing, they’ve got everything from Guinness to Staropramen, plus cocktails and a proper wine list. Imperial by name, Imperial by drinks menu. 🍛 Curries: 3/5 Bit of a mixed bag. The Chicken Jalfrezi stole the show on flavour but went a little overboard on peppers (think more greenhouse than curry house). The Prawn Goan and Desi Chicken had decent flavour but were thinner than we like — give us that rich, thick sauce any day. Tried to kick things up with the spicy Szechuan rice — tasty, but sadly didn’t bring the fire we’d hoped for 🔥. The bread basket though… wow. Stacked high with garlic naan, buttery naan, lacha paratha, and a glorious peshwari that had enough coconut to make you feel like you’re on holiday. Easily the star of the show (and yes, we nearly tapped out 😂). 🤝 Service: 3.5/5 Friendly and informative, especially with the pickle tray breakdown and spice customisation. But once the food landed, they went a little off radar before checking back in. Good, but could be sharper. 💵 Price: 3/5 Stylish setting, nice vibe, but leaning on the pricier side. And when you’re charging premium, the food’s got to fully deliver — not just taxi down the runway. ⭐️ Overall: 3.5/5 A cool spot with something different for Croydon — an Indo-Chinese fusion that makes for a fun evening out. Not a flawless flight, but worth boarding if you fancy something outside the usual curry classics. So, Croydon Curry Lovers — have you been? What did you think? Would you back for more or stick with the stalwart curry houses? 👇 #fyp #curry #indianfood #london #croydon
