People are deliberately misunderstanding this. Its not an instant disqualification, but it can potentially be a bad look in a situation where the whole point is first impressions.

if they wanted your qualifications they can look at your resume. The interview is mostly a vibe check to see if you're gonna be a pain in the ass to work with

Thank you!! We have regressed into Crucible levels of behavior monitoring each other. It’s a coffee?? We are adults?? We submit to this level of nit picking & micromanaging & then wonder why office culture is toxic?? They want you to have *no* autonomy, & for you to be okay w/ it. And ppl would rather criticize the applicant, their closer peer than the interviewer who is abusing their power! What a stupid time to be alive. 🤯
