Broadcaster and columnist Ramon Tulfo praised Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon for what he described as hands-on leadership and commitment to public service. Tulfo highlighted Dizon’s presence on the ground during earthquakes and flooding, saying the Cabinet official personally inspects affected areas, identifies the root causes of problems and gives instructions to engineers. He also recalled an incident in which Dizon allegedly reprimanded an engineer after discovering that a dike meant to hold floodwaters had not been built despite funds being allocated for the project. “A far cry from what his predecessors would say, ‘Bahala na kayo diyan, alam na ninyo ang gagawin.’” Tulfo also suggested that Dizon could eventually seek a Senate seat. “Don’t be surprised if this guy gets elected to the Senate.
