For a while,we sat by that stream, You,with all the world's secrets poured into your dark eyes' gleam, I,utterly lost in the vision of your gaze, it seems. The sky was clear, the night serene, Fortune smiling,time, tame and keen. A sheaf of moonlight had spilled into the water, Branches raised their hands to the moon's daughter. The night,the plain, the flower, the stone, All in love with the nightingale's song,alone. I remember you told me: "From this love,you should flee! For a moment,on this water, gaze thoughtfully. Water is the mirror of fleeting love's art, You,whose gaze is now anxious, from one look to another may depart, Be tomorrow,when your heart is with another, So you may forget,for a while, from this city, wander!" I said to you: "Beware of love? I know not how! To travel away from you?I never could, not now, not now .💖💖💖💖
