a big part of this is probably connected to the value that people are socialized to hold. women are valued for their bodies and men are valued for their ability to provide security. . people who are strict on these values are going to view a woman who has not saved her body as lesser and people will view men without security as lesser. a man's body has less value so there's less of a value judgement on what he does with it (as long as he still provides security) and a woman doesn't need to provide security which is why people will be more concerned with what she does with her body. . to be clear, I do not support this kind of value judgement. I feel like each person should figure out their own source of value instead of it being thrust upon them by the circumstances of their birth.

i think one of the reasons why he was more appreciated, was because he validated that women are the victim and are correct. so basically saying theyre not at all accountable. whereas men wouldnt accept it the other way because they would still hold her accountable. but i do also think men would appreciate honesty.

I get where the double standard comes from. guys get away with a lot of stuff when it comes to their dating. it's so important that we remember that past mistakes corrected is the recipe for future successes. man, woman it doesn't matter. we all live our lives and hopefully grow from the decisions of our past. and with any luck we can find a loved one that will accept those decisions as building blocks for the person we are today. 😁

I definitely agree. Changing and growing is only okay if you are a white man. If you are a woman, all your mistakes stay with you. Plus, if this was a less attractive man or a someone poc, they wouldn’t behave that much supportive to him as well.
