When I was working in a nursing facility, we had a resident who was a trans man, and there was this CNA who after she’d give him care, she would be misgendering and making fun of him outside of his room. She also would deadname him in front of him while assisting feeding him and she did it because he was non-verbal due to a stroke and knew he couldn’t advocate for himself. I was a manager at that time and I reported it immediately to her supervisor. Ain’t no one getting away with that shit around me.

I’m only 4 weeks into my program and every class is HEAVY on “you must genuinely like people to do well in this profession” and I believe it 🙂↕️if you do not like people and cannot separate their beliefs from yours you should not become a nurse
