This is no different than foods that are Kosher, Gluten free, Vegan, etc. It just means they meet the standards set by this group. They are one of the very few brands that don't put junk in their product.

So I have always been a fan of Tillamook cheese and when I saw this the other day I reached out to the company, they stated "Nothing changed in how the cheese is made; Tillamook simply completed the certification process and added the symbol to their packaging. We switched to a vegetarian renet in 2016 so nothing in processing has changed since." They are basically using that symbol as a marketing tactic, though I don't think they realize how it's backfiring.

Tillamook didn't change its classic recipe to fit a new standard. Rather, because their standard recipe already used vegetarian-friendly microbial enzymes instead of traditional animal stomach lining, their existing product line easily met the qualifications when they decided to apply for the commercial label.
