I went through two deployments with my husband, and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. I had people all around me who loved me and supported me, but I’ve never felt as lonely as I did during those deployments. It was before we had kids or pets, so when I came home, it was just me in a quiet house. There was no one there to distract me from how much I missed him. Thank you for your service, sir. And thank you, ma’am, for your sacrifice too. The sacrifices made by military families often go unseen, but they are very real.
