(I know you know this but engagement for you). There has been tons of research on input to output efficiency in different species of livestock and even among breeds. It has been a while since I read over it, but I feel like meat rabbits beat out chicken, and dairy goats beat out dairy cows.

As I understand it, it takes 18 months to 2 years before you get beef for the freezer. And most can’t butcher them on site and require specialized stuff to make it happen. Rabbits can absolutely be done on site without worrying about getting a butcher date months out.

cattle are literally the least efficient animal. those mfers take forever to grow, destroy the land, and eat like crazy. they also are like impossible to handle by yourself freehand
