If nothing truly matters, why sacrifice? Why tell the truth? Why discipline yourself? Why suffer for something greater than immediate pleasure? Now consider the opposite. What if everything you do matters? What if your choices shape your character? What if cowardice, dishonesty, and irresponsibility don't simply disappear, but gradually become who you are? That possibility is far more demanding than nihilism because it leaves you with nowhere to hide. You may not know the ultimate meaning of existence. Fine.
