the system is broken. as am educator i feel awful for all the kids that have to come to school to learn in that broken system. i wish that children that can't access the curriculum are seen as children mot numbers. you are right it is definitely not fair

Unfortunately Kent is under Reform who want to get rid of all EHCPS. We were kent, and now in East Sussex. We need more SEN schools everywhere xx I have an Enhanced DBS... Wish I was closer. We need to do something like this down here x

If you have the money pooled together you can make an independent school cooperative. Structure as a charity for SEN.

I can help 🙋🏻♂️have filled in many ‘Right To Choose’ forms and got students their EHCP’s plus have helped set up a tutoring company that supports students at risk of permanent exclusion and am part of a team of people who have set up our own SEMH school in Ashford and currently expanding into Cranbrook. Am definitely up for supporting this - let’s book a proper get together and a good ol’ chin wag about it all. 🗣️☕️👌

I’ve battled 20 months to get my son in a school that can meet he’s needs !! I’ve actually hit the jackpot today , got funding for a private school mainstream with provisions… I can’t tell you the relief.. I’ve shed a lot of tears today .. of happiness for once !! ❤️

Having SEN kids in mainstream schools is letting the kids down because they aren’t getting the appropriate education and they are disrupting the other kids in spaces that have no idea about their needs or the staff to deal with it. I worked in special needs schools back for nearly 3 years as a youth worker and then as a 1:1 TA and both roles have just disappeared from schools SEN schools let alone existing in mainstream schools at all. Having everyone in one school just isn’t realistic in the slightest without these key roles. Thing was doing those roles I slowly went downhill myself health wise and had to spend 3 months in hospital due to being overworked. I liked doing those jobs because I felt they were worthwhile and I did a lot of training, but I destroyed myself in the process. Those roles are going because of budget cuts and bizarre council decisions. No one is winning and that’s sad.
