Me my mum and sister had to stay with our dad 24/7 whilst he was in hospital and then in rehab hospital for stroke/locked in syndrome and wheelchair bound. he has peg tube, oxygen, trackia, catheta, contracted legs what would go up to his bum as he couldnt move. They neglected his care bad and we had to do everything they should be doing. They left him to get worse, pulled the oxygen tube out of his neck, left his beddin n clothes in shit and blood. made his legs worse so they never straightened and so much more

as someone who works in long term care with dementia residents, I've always had the philosophy of "treat them how you want your loved ones treated" and so in my head I have 13 (the # of residents i have on my floor) extra grandparents! it's sick how poorly some of the residents get treated 😭
