I finally see it! He got 9 in change. Gave him a dollar to make it a 10, but really he gave him the original 9 plus the 10 from the register so that’s 19, but he’s only in it for 9, gave him another dollar and now he has 20. Doubled his money.

I once had this done in reverse on me. I was trying to be honest and she thought I was trying to trick her. I asked for $10 in gas and she said that will be $10, but I wasn’t done. I also wanted a $10 lotto ticket. She said that’ll be $10. I hand her a $20 and she hands me $10, plus the ticket. I figured she missed something. So I said I also want $10 in gas. She said, I know! It’s $10. Then I said plus this ticket. She gets mad and yells, it’s $10. Then she calls over her manager and tells her I’m trying to scam her. She saw she didn’t scan the ticket and rung it up. I thought my good deed meant some good karma, but the ticket was a loser and so am I.

The guy confused him by throwing a bunch of bills around. He gave the store owner 9 dollars and asked if he could get a bigger bill by adding 1 more dollar the store owner complied cause at this point it was a fair deal. But the store owner didn’t wait to get the extra dollar and gave him the 10 upfront, the guy walks off and quickly gives him what was supposed to be a 1 dollar bill but instead gives him the 10 dollar bill the store owner gave to him. The store owner being a good guy calls him back over and says he gave him too much money. At this point the store owner is confused so the guy says let me just add 1 more dollar to this and make it an even 20. And the guy complies and gives him a 20 dollar bill. But the money on the table was just the guys original 10 dollars plus the store owners 10 dollar bill. The guy got an extra 10 dollars form confusing the store owner.

They’re called moneychangers and they’re really good. I had one come through one night and she was from New York or something and I knew what she was trying to do and she got me for 50 bucks. They are good… as you are giving them their change they will hand you a 50 and say can you break this and then it all gets mixed up the first thing you need to do is shut the damn drawer and give them back their change and go from there but once they start switching stuff around on you, give me five instead give me 10 blah blah blah they will always win

as a cashier at quick trip we would have a competition who could short change the most in a shift. It was easy to be $100 over in a shift due to the sheer numbers we'd do.

Basically, the guy got $10 in change back at the beginning but said that he wanted a bigger bill so he gave him the $10 back plus some fives and ones to make 20. That way he ended up with a $20 bill which is a sign of dominance when compared to lesser dominations.

Scammers are usually talking faster than this while rushing the cashier. Had a lady try this on me with a $100 bill for for a $5 item. After the register opened displaying her change due said “wait! I have 5” asked for the $100 back then said “oh, never mind just break the 100” so I asked for the 100 back. She got pissed off, slammed a $5 bill on the counter and stormed out. 😂

Customer give 11 to the cashier for a 10 leaves the 10 and the cashier calls him back. Customer gives him another 1 dollar and says it makes 20 and to give it to him in big bills. Customer gave 12 dollars and gained 20 cashier lost 8 bucks

I had someone try this with me once at Blockbuster lol. They tried to say my change was wrong, I counted down my till and said nah, you need to leave.
