🚨 Claude just got a major upgrade: Cowork now has its own built-in browser. This is a bigger shift than it might sound. Instead of Claude simply giving you instructions for what to do online, it can now open a browser inside Claude Desktop and actually work through web tasks with you. 🌐🤖 Claude can navigate webpages, read content, click links, type into fields and fill out forms. That means tasks that normally involve constantly jumping between AI, browser tabs, dashboards and portals can potentially happen inside one workflow. ⚡ Think about the possibilities. Claude could research information across websites 🔎, collect data from dashboards 📊, work through vendor portals 🧾, complete repetitive admin tasks ✅ and interact with systems that might not have a dedicated API or connector. And that last point is important. MCP servers, APIs and connectors are incredibly powerful, but not every business tool has one. Some companies still rely on internal dashboards, legacy systems and web portals. A browser gives Claude another way to interact with those environments when a native integration simply doesn’t exist. There are now effectively two ways Claude can work with the web. 🌍 The new built-in browser runs inside Claude Cowork and is separate from your personal browser. It’s designed for handing off web-based tasks while you continue working. Claude in Chrome, on the other hand, works through the Chrome extension and is useful when you want Claude interacting with a page or account you already have open. But browser access doesn’t mean you should blindly let AI do everything. 🔐 Browser agents can still face risks such as prompt injection, incorrect actions and sensitive information being exposed if you give them too much access. Anthropic includes permission prompts and action checks, but users should still start with trusted websites and familiar workflows. The interesting part is what comes next. 👀 A browser gives an AI agent access. Workflows give it structure. Connectors give it data. Automation gives it repeatability. Put those together and AI starts moving from “assistant that answers questions” toward systems that can actually execute parts of real business processes. 🧠⚙️ The built-in browser is rolling out through Claude Desktop for Pro, Max and Team users, with Enterprise controls available for organisations. Claude Desktop needs to remain open and online for the built-in browser to work. This could become incredibly useful for research, operations, admin, lead generation, reporting and repetitive web-based workflows. 💬 What would you give Claude browser access to first: research, leads, content, admin or something completely different? Follow TechSerks for practical AI, automation, IT and emerging technology content. 🚀 #techserks #claude #anthropic #claudeai #aiagents
