Question. What if the death is a suspected homicide is there an autopsy? And what if it is before a holiday?

My grandfather passed after a long battle with dementia. My grandmother told me she wouldn’t sit shiva as she’d already mourned long before he passed.

Shiva… Hindus also pray to lord shiva for the deceased to help guide them in the afterlife life.

My husband passed away last year, as a blended family I always honored his Jewish traditions. We honored him with Jewish funeral traditions, buried him next to his parents. He asked not to sit shiva, but to celebrate his life with memories with the kids and honored my traditions. I miss him so much 😢

A dead must be burried as soon as possible(same day or the next day)....same as Muslims.
in tradition we sit 7days of mourning but according to Islamic Sharia 3 days mourning is enough.

I think everyone should be buried the same day or the next so you dont have to have anxiety and wait so long to get the day out of the way.

Question: What it someone dies during a big holiday? Will they still be buried the next day or do you wait until after the holiday ends?

Thank you for explaining this, I’ve always thought that the Jewish religion was very beautiful and very meaningful. I am a Catholic and I stand behind all Jewish people.!

I have some Jewish families in my community. As a non-Jew, what can I do to provide comfort during Shiva? Are there customs I can follow? Traditions I can take part in? Or simply provide food and comfort, kosher of course.
