I played the long game and it paid off better than I ever imagined. When my son was 18 I showed him ALL the receipts child support and all the extra things I paid for. He just found out his mother lied to him his entire life. He has since blocked his mother, and we now have the best relationship. Win for the boys 🤙🤙🤙

Why can’t you be there to congratulate them? Did the court impose a restraining order with the divorce?

I had to do this myself. Our divorce was 50/50 custody. Ex said, “I’ll take this one, you take the other”. Tried to fight for both of my kids, but it caused undo stress & financially couldn’t afford to keep fighting.

This has been my logic exactly once the hurt & shock subsided not completely although I can gamble on a relationship with the grown version of my children

It’s a big gamble that you’re taking that ur kids will want to have a relationship with you. My dad signed his rights over to my stepdad when I was like 7. I have zero relationship with him as an adult and zero desire to do so. Nor does my brother. And I tried twice as an adult. No amount of fighting wld make me not see my kids

I’m curious why you surrendered your parental rights unless it was to be free of child support responsibility. Not accusing. Genuinely curious due to my own situation. The other parent can turn the kids against us or they become difficult teens. But you still maintain legal right to step in for them if something goes horribly wrong in their lives.

I do not understand how surrendering parental rights means zero contact? Why can you not go to a public place to watch a competition and stay away from the ex and her new husband? 🤔

Once the kids get older and more mature, they will see why you did what you did and they will see what your ex wife did. I’m going through this right now

Regardless of how the marriage ends, unless any sort of abuse is involved, it should never effect the kids in a bad way. I have been divorced twice. The first one very amicable and he is an excellent father that is very involved. the second one is abusive and I have a protection order against. He still sees our daughter 12 days a month. It is all about the kids and not our feelings regarding the ending of the marriage.

Amen! Took me about 5 years and $100k(ish) to discover this way of thinking, but you couldn’t be more correct! Brutal & heartbreaking, but 100% true! Still helping with their mortgage & bills, but stepping away was imperative to my health! 🙏🏼

Everyone loses to some extent in family court, whether or not they realize it. You are correct, she did not win.

I disagree. Kids grow up so quickly you never get that time back and kids need both parents. Especially more so if one parent is chaos and unstable

You are so smart! Of course!! You can see that the kids are what matter! Soon enough they will see….she has control until they can decide for themselves 🔥🔥

The judges wouldnt be so bias against men/fathers it's disgusting. I hate that fathers should be allowed to be involved with their children.!!!

I understand what you did. I had to do it. Hardest thing to do and you are immediately labeled for wanting to give them peace. It’s torture.

Just post how proud u are on fb and they will know just dont put no names, I get the childsupport thing, my ex was suppose to pay 256 a mnth for 2 kids, he didnt, he got them when he was sober enough. which last for abt 8 Mos everytime. It was dumb. I never talked abt him or worried abt that 256. My babies are in their 20s and im their gal! if they need momma or their step-dad we there. never alienated him tho he did that himself.
