As a manager I always have my employees back. If it doesn’t align I tell the guest “my associate is correct with company policies, but i’ll make the one time exception and going forward just know this won’t happen again” IF anything

Omg my first job at kfc we ran out butter and jelly and the manager said that we cant open stock until tomorrow. A lady was requesting it but i told we have no more until tomorrow and she blew up on me. my manager comes asks what the problem and then say we do have more in back ill get it for you. The lady was in my face telling me i should be fired. Like why did you tell me no but tell the lady yes?! i waited to walk out during rush hour to quit and we were short staffed.

As a manager we use to tell employees that sometimes we just do what we need to end the conflict but we’d typically tell the customer that the employee was following policy and from then on the customer should expect policy

pro-tip: lf a customer has a request that violates company policy, just say "ok, I'm sure we can do that, but let me just check with my manager real fast" because your manager was gonna violate company policy to keep the customer happy anyway

whenever i do anything like that the first thing I do is explain to the customer that the cashier was correct, but I am authorized to make one time acceptions. that being second if the customer is a butthole I will not always make that acception. yelling or being rude to the cashier guarantees that I will not make one, because I will always have the cashier's back.

I work at a nice hotel and a guest came in asking if they could just drink at the pool bar but I said you have to have a key and be a guest and then the manager goes go on ahead guys absolutely you can drink at the bar. 💀 like okay free access for everyone then 🗿

Had a table of grumpy old ladies come in and nothing was good enough for them. They wanted to order menu items that we literally did not serve anymore and demanded I get a manager, who gave them FREE dessert and APOLOGIZED to them. All it tells these people is that being a rude nut job gets you free things.
