Back test it over a 100 years. You back tested it over the period of largest government debt expansion over conceived by man. Of course vol was repeatedly crushed over that time.

You do realize it doesn’t matter if you use AI right? If they’re trading 100’s of times a day, they’re HFT, which means they’re network speeds are faster than yours will ever be. It’s in the design.

Since about Jan of 2018, we're in a new regime. Everyone has the market on their phones in their pockets. Testing anything before then is basically worthless as it explodes in volume since then.
