For clarification, the whole thing started with a dance to a random song, the dance was called the monster mash, and then there was a guy who made a song about it and named it “the monster mash”…. I love the joke but just thought clarification is good

Ted is misunderstanding. The song the monster mash is about the dance invented by the creature that Boris makes in the beginning of the song. The song you are hearing is the same song that exists in that universe because it is about the dance, which did not have a song before hand.
