Wait, I’m confused. I never have people that wanna do nice things for me. Spent my whole life going to bat even for strangers. Somehow, when I make a request to people I know it’s like I asked for a kidney. But what I realized is, the kindness of strangers is awesome. I love to offer my help to people. It makes me feel good like let someone else go first in a line they think you up and down it feels so good.❣️

Dr Sonja Lyubomirsky did a study on this some years ago. acts of kindness (doing something kind for someone else) activates the same reward centre in the brain as the person receiving the act and people who did the act of kindness stay happy for 2 to 4 weeks after the act.

Not always easy allowing others in enough to see you at your most vulnerable. I’m getting there and my baby steps are enough. I am enough 🌸
