@tilscience: So today I learned the discovery of feathered dinosaurs basically came down to luck on a geologic scale Volcanoes near ancient lakebeds in what's now Liaoning, China kept erupting at just the right size, in just the right place, with just the right ash chemistry, to bury dinosaurs in oxygen-free mud before they could decompose. This gave us Sinosauropteryx, Caudipteryx, Microraptor and other hundreds of species preserved down to individual feather barbs, pigment and even what they last ate. But if those volcanoes didn’t set off at that time and intensity, we may never have discovered feathered dinosaurs, which led to theory of evolution into birds Full dino-sized video drops on our YT @tilscience at end of this month. They look like they are preserved like mummy like.. what if the ash and/or dust also gases help mummifications in rituals. I was watching Unearthed and seems like a lot of preservation were around they found volcanoes 🌋 🤷‍♀️

I took a friend to Australia from the US when we woke up the next morning in the suburbs but very close to state bushland the amount of birdlife and bird calls/song/screetching (lots of parrots) was overwhelming to my friend she looked at me and said are we in Jurassic Park?
