If you have stainless steel add a copper coin and it will help prevent that. Of course with cleanings

Yea so the filter keeps my cats fur from clogging the pump every single day that’s literally the only reason I have one with a filter as my cats only get distilled water. You’re going to have to wash this just as much as the other ones everyone always wants to act like it’s so hard to maintain when it really isn’t. Filters are typically good for 30 days if they get bad before that you should give your cats different water.

If it’s plastic, it should still be cleaned weekly, regardless of branding or special features. Plastic harbors bacteria and can literally grow in under 24–48 hours in even a circulating water fountain.

Honestly, I’m going to buy one when I get paid this week! Thank you for sharing this! About a year ago I purchased one of those metal water fountains for my two kitties. I have to clean it every 3 to 5 days very thoroughly, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes just to clean it, and then I have to buy replacement filters for it every few months.🤯 I think that I’m going to get one of these this payday thank you so much for sharing this. It really does remind me that this is a better product than what I have.💗

My BFF bought me one, and I was excited, except...you get one filter and they recommend changing them every two weeks?! I don't see the replacements in the shop. Maybe Bissel will make a filterless cat fountain next?

I have 5 normal bowls they can drink out of and 2 fountains. The bowls I change every day and the fountains I take sharting and clean once a week. Never had a problem with 8 cats. Saying “if you love your cat you’ll switch to this” is weird

yk your supposed to clean them right and change the filter..... I have one that is perfectly fine just like this. if you love your cats your willing to clean there water dish everyday.

Water fountains for cats have so many nooks and crannies that you need to clean to give them fully clean water it is ridiculous. I just use a stainless steel bowl and pour fresh water in every day it’s less work and my kitty knows it’s fresh!

This fountain still gets slimy after a few days. Regardless of the fountain you use, clean it weekly.
