برأيي، كان من الخطأ السياسي أن يطرح موضوع ترحيل الأجانب بصورة واسعة، خصوصًا إذا كان الكلام يشمل أشخاصًا عندهم إقامة قانونية أو أصبحوا مواطنين سويديين. هكذا خطاب ممكن يخلق شعورًا بأن الأجانب غير مرغوب بهم، وهذا قد يؤثر على موقف جزء من الناخبين. وبالنهاية، الانتخابات بيّنت أن الكتلة اليمينية خسرت بفارق ضيق، إذ حصلت المعارضة على 176 مقعدًا مقابل 173 للكتلة اليمينية. أما أن هذا الخطاب وحده هو سبب الخسارة، فهذا يبقى رأيًا وتحليلًا، وليس شيئًا يمكن الجزم به من نتائج الانتخابات وحدها.
