It’s too much for me to explain but for some with MCAS it can be super helpful. Something about how it interacts with the COX (cyclooxygenase) enzymes, prostaglandins and some other stuff. But yeah I’ve found ibuprofen works very well for me but Tylenol is trash for me lol.

because the inflammation. I also read something about how we feel best at night even though we are supposed to be sleeping but cant or have an aversion to it because we finally feel tolerable. Theres apparently a link to your body producing melatonin and relaxing the histamine:inflammation responses. Had me considering taking some kind of melatonin during the day. Not recommending. its just weird what we find relief in and realizing they are not good long term copes.

Yup. I’ve graduated on to flexeril at bedtime on super bad days along with caffeine and plenty of protein in the evening. (POTS, EDS, ADHD and probable MCAS)

probably unnoticed pain that makes you not sleep. chronic pain actually disrupts sleep so much more than people notice. you're used to the pain and probably don't think anything of it until its bad.

Ibuprofen is an NSAID so it's an anti-inflammatory. Isn't MCAS an inflammatory disorder? It's probably helping take down some of that inflammation which allows your body to rest more

It’s probably related to systemic inflammation. You have MCAS…it’s probably helping the inflammation from a body that can be trigger happy with nearly everything. I’m guessing 😅 I sleep better with muscle relaxers and Tylenol (hEDS and Fibro) and wake up in less pain too. Even when I take just Tylenol…I sleep better. Presumably also because of inflation and autonomic nervous system dysfunction…lol I also have POTS. Does this help at all? I have no idea lol
