My dog had the same thing happen to her! I would say therapy and anxiety meds have helped lots!! And love too but that’s a given, hope poutine gets better🫶🏻

with big dogs after a walk in the heat you should wait a little while and let them self regulate/soothe before water because water right after heat can cause “bloat” where their stomach expands causing a medical emergency!! sending love to poutine

As a vet- would ask your vet about getting some trazadone or gabapentin for poutine in the initial super anxious period- can wean down using it once she’s back in her normal routine but will help her feel more calm in the transition

the licking paw is a MASSIVE indicator that something has happened. it's a stress and anxiety thing dogs do, knew a dog doing this and he would actually try chew off his paw.
