@hackedpodcast: We might be the last generation that writes software by hand. Mikko Hypponen's point isn't sci-fi. Coding assistants already ship real features. The question is what the job becomes when most of the typing isn't done by people anymore, and who still understands the systems those models spit out. This clip is the tease from our conversation with Mikko. The full episode goes deeper on AI risk, drones, Stuxnet, and what changes when machines write the code. @mikko Full ep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQoBJ4lLTxE #AI #agenticcoding #programming #softwareengineer #podcast

These oldies want the next generation to struggle just to validate their own struggles.
That's pure insecurity.

I disagree I am a programmer I do type by hand and I am 15 still learning of corse but still I am trying not to utilize ai to create everything by itself but as a tool to learn and to make some stuff faster

In 50 years stories will be told about a time when humans used to program manually all by themselves without any AI agents 😁

Disagree. Programming doesn’t just mean writing the code by hand, it involves knowing intimately how it all works together down in the depths. AI LETS YOU not need to do that, but does not FORBID you from doing that. We are going through a phase where we don’t have sufficient measures of “good” because “visually good and seamingly working and delivered and redone rapidly” has uprooted all those measures, but they will surface again, and those that stay intimate with the details will be observably “better” again.

programmers in 1950: we are the last real programmers, only we can make holes in cards. Future generations, they will not programing, they will write just English words.... instead of boolean holes

when AI is good enough why even manual code any more? AI do it better anyway. we can do many more important things

actually vibe coders are creating bigger, better and far more complex systems than than we could have done manually. before a visionary told a coders what to build. now the visionary builds himself

u know those poeple who used to feed cards with holes punched in them to computers the size of vending machines that took up the entire wall of a building? ya we don't need the guys who punch holes in cards anymore now. and that's ok.
