@teadrunk: On Friday, September 25, Educational Tea Club dives into an investigation into what creates character in tea. This month, we’re focusing on how certain characteristics express differently across teas, and how cultivars can create different ‘personalities’ in the cup. 3:00 PM ET - Aficionado: Two Ways to Be Floral Floral is one of tea’s most familiar descriptions, yet it can take many forms. Compare a floral green tea and a Dan Cong to experience two distinctly different expressions of florality. 4:00 PM ET - Connoisseur: The Personalities of Cultivars Cultivar—alongside terroir and processing—is one of the fundamental influences on a tea’s character. Compare two Wu Long teas made in the same style and grown on the same tea mountain, but harvested from different cultivars, to taste what each variety brings to the cup. Join us in person at our New York City tea studio or virtually on Zoom. Educational Tea Club members attend their tier’s guided tasting as part of membership; non-members are welcome to join a session à la carte.
