@studiobinder: Comment SOUNDBLIMP and we'll send you the link. An IMAX frame is 15 perforations wide on 65mm film, running through the camera at roughly five and a half feet per second. That much celluloid moving that fast makes a lot of noise, cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema has described older IMAX cameras as sounding like an unhinged lawnmower. You can't shoot dialogue next to that. It's why Nolan's films from The Dark Knight through Oppenheimer, and Ryan Coogler's Sinners, all paired IMAX with a quieter camera for intimate scenes. After Oppenheimer, Nolan decided to stop working around it: "If ever we're going to make a film entirely on IMAX, this is the one."
