@abc7chicago: A group of civilians stepped up to rescue a pelican that had fishing line wrapped around one of its wings in California on Sept. 14. ⠀ Footage taken by Eric Rebollo shows a fisherman untangling the line from the pelican’s wing, while a tourist holds the bird’s beak at the Huntington Beach Pier. ⠀ Rebollo told Storyful that he saw the hobbled pelican in the ocean before the fisherman used a net to help bring it up to the pier. There, passersby jumped in to help free the bird. ⠀ At the end of the footage, the freed pelican spreads its wings and flies back to the water as people applaud. #news #huntingtonbeach #pelican #rescue #california
