@shaeofalltrades_: After 11 long months, I walked across that stage and graduated the police academy. Seeing my instructors look at me with pride was one of the most emotional parts of the entire day. These were the people who trained me, challenged me, corrected me, encouraged me, and watched me grow from a cadet into the woman standing there in uniform. Knowing they had seen the work behind that moment made it mean so much more. Then came the moment my Sergeant pinned me. 😭💙 That was a blessing I will never forget. It made everything feel real in a completely different way. I wasn’t just finishing the academy — I was stepping into the career I had worked so hard for. A Deputy Sheriff. 👮🏽‍♀️ My children were one of the biggest reasons I kept going. I wanted them to see their mom finish something difficult, stay committed, and chase a dream all the way to the end. I wanted that moment to show them what perseverance looks like. And in the middle of all that happiness, my heart was still with my grandma. 🕊️❤️ She raised me from birth. She knew the woman I was before any of this. She knew this was something I wanted, and it hurts knowing she wasn’t physically there to witness one of the biggest moments of my life. I can only imagine the look on her face seeing me in that uniform. I know I made her proud. That day represented so much more than graduation to me. It was growth, sacrifice, purpose, motherhood, legacy, and a dream finally becoming real. My kids watched me cross the stage. My instructors watched me finish what I started.
