@melissadivaristhompson: You know that thing where your partner forgets what you told them on Tuesday, and then sends you a video at 11pm that is so completely you it makes you laugh out loud? Yeah. That's a lot of ADHD love right there. When they're into something, they're all the way in. And when that something is you, it can feel like a spotlight. It can also feel confusing when the spotlight wanders off for a bit. Nothing's wrong with you for noticing that, and nothing's wrong with them either. What I see help most with couples is pretty small stuff. Sitting on the couch together, each on your own thing, no agenda. Saying the kind thing out loud even when you figure they already know it. A hand on their back when you walk past. A lot of people with ADHD have heard "you're too much" their whole lives. So the small stuff can land bigger than you'd expect.
