Ironically bc I was raised as Catholic I was pushed into critical thinking earlier bc adults around me were taking things at face value that my 8 year old self was confused by so I thought deeper about it and was like yeah that’s not true lol

I grew up Southern Baptist and this is 110% true. They reject teaching critical thinking unless it’s apologetics. Now i’m in my late 20s and I’m obsessed with learning, partly because I was robbed of a whole childhood of it.
