@lovinmaltaofficial: The son of murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia has recalled what it was like to sit in the same room as Yorgen Fenech during the trial over his mother’s assassination. In Lovin Malta’s exclusive interview, Matthew Caruana Galizia describes seeing the man he says “admitted to paying money” towards his mother’s murder, and recalls the moment Fenech was brought to the family home as part of the court proceedings. Matthew says Fenech initially refused to get out of the car, only doing so after it became clear the judge would compel him to. “And when he got out of the car, he couldn’t look a single person in the eye.” Asked whether Matthew himself ever looked Fenech in the eye, his answer was immediate. “Of course.” He went on to say: “I wanted him to know that we saw him for what he was.” Fenech was acquitted of complicity in Daphne’s murder and criminal association following an 8–1 jury verdict on 2nd September. Daphne Caruana Galizia was assassinated in a car bomb on 16th October 2017. Watch the full exclusive interview with Matthew Caruana Galizia now on Lovin Malta’s YouTube. 📷
