@thetimes: Who was Nicholas Brandram, the suspect in the Putney pusher case? The banker suspected of being the “Putney pusher” told relatives that the police investigation was “murdering him” and that he had “no fight left” days before his death, his family have said. His family insist that Brandram, a former army captain, was innocent and have accused the Metropolitan Police of ignoring evidence proving he could not have been present at the time of the attack. They say that the force’s refusal to formally clear Brandram’s name ultimately led to him ending his own life. Yesterday the Met said the investigation was continuing. Chief Superintendent Dan Knowles said: “Following Mr Brandram’s release under investigation, it was made clear that inquiries would continue while officers progressed outstanding lines of inquiry and forensic examinations.” He added: “Our thoughts are with Mr Brandram’s family and friends at this deeply distressing time.” The force has referred itself to the police watchdog over its contact with Brandram #putneypusher #putney #met #investigation #uknews
