@extinctworld88: Titanoboa cerrejonensis was the largest snake ever discovered, living 60-58 million years ago just after the dinosaurs went extinct. Fossils from the Cerrejón coal mines in Colombia show it reached 42-49 feet long and weighed over 1.25 tons — as long as a school bus and as thick as a man is tall. A non-venomous constrictor related to modern boas, it ruled the hot, humid swamps of Paleocene South America, ambushing crocodiles and giant turtles in the water and crushing them with an estimated 400 PSI of constriction force. Its massive size was only possible because the Earth was much warmer then, allowing cold-blooded giants to thrive. #Extinction #ancientanimals #ExtinctSpecies #FossilHistory
