Thats crazy how that happened because cats are smart- they won’t eat the food if its been tampered with. I don’t let my cat go outside unaccompanied because they will chase rats/mice- the same rodents that eat the poison and the cats will get sick that way. Plus, many people hate cats. If you are feeding a colony, keep the area neat & make sure its not on anyone’s property or near it. People will leave canned food and other things that will lead to other animals (raccoons, squirrels, etc) in people’s yards and rodents. Also, some people are really terrified of cats. You can take care of a colony without being a nuisance to your neighbors. Not justifying this act. He could have called a rescue. (Not ASPCA- they k-ll them after a few days due to overcrowding)
