Before you look at the weights on screen, remember: I did NOT start with these. I worked my way up. 👏🏼 These are 5 dumbbell exercises I regularly include in my upper body workouts at home: ✔️ Wide curl to crossbody hammer curls ✔️ Alternating Arnold press ✔️ Chest press into pullover ✔️ Around-the-world to underhand raise ✔️ Rotating triceps kickbacks You’re challenging your shoulders, biceps, triceps, chest, and back with just dumbbells. Here’s how to make these work for YOU: Choose your weight for each exercise. What you can chest press may be much heavier than what you can control during a shoulder raise. That’s normal! For the 2-in-1 moves, let the harder portion determine your weight. If you can curl it but have to swing through the crossbody hammer curl, go lighter. Control the lowering, too. Don’t let the dumbbells drop just because you finished lifting them. Keep your body steady instead of leaning or using momentum to finish. Your final reps should feel challenging while you can still maintain good form. When you can complete all your reps and feel like you could easily do several more, try the smallest weight increase available. And write down what you used! It’s hard to know whether you’re progressing if you’re guessing your weights every workout. These moves are regularly programmed inside my dumbbell-only weekly workout plan, Movement With Julie, with weight logging and exercise history so you can track your progress. SAVE this for your next upper body workout and FOLLOW for more dumbbell workouts at home 🫡 #arms #armday #upperbody #homeworkout
