I didn’t enable him. I didn’t give him access until he took accountability. But his actions didn’t change and neither did I. I worked on taking care of myself. What I found I was doing, however; I found that I was waiting for him, silently, hoping that he would make changes. And while I waited, during all that time, all those years, I starved. I felt like he was standing on my life line, cutting off my air supply. I’d ask him to leave so that I could breathe easy. I was dying. He thought it was just a mood that would pass. So now he’s staying with his mother because “she needs him”. And now he’s waiting for me, and guess what.

So I have a question on this, my dismissive avoidant partner, and I have decided not to live together, but still work on the relationship. So is this actually feeding into his dismissive? Avoidant behavior was the wrong decision? Because he wants us to work on this while not living with one another is that even possible with the deceive.
